Future drama queen?

Does anyone else find it astonishing that a 2-year-old can sing show tunes? I'm fearful that I'm going to end up one of those stage moms if she keeps this up....

Seriously though, this is too adorable for words. We had rain nonstop for a week, so Nana started singing this to Julia. And well, she caught on. And now she won't quit!

It's really hard to be in a foul mood with her around, for sure.

(Oh, and my kitchen's not usually as messy as it is in the video. Julia's new thing is "helping" me make dinner, which is essentially her standing on a chair, rifling through the spices and the utensil drawer. You know, come to think of it, instead of theater, maybe she'll be a Rachael Ray. I mean, she can identify everything from a spatula to a whisk to a potato masher. My personal favorite is the "ice cream scoot.")

Mike had his first round of chemo Wednesday. It was so crowded, I couldn't even sit with him, which really sucked. I did get to sneak him in a milkshake though. He took a walk and ran an errand to Target later that night...

He had a CT scan on Tuesday so the doctor could see how much the cancer grew and get a baseline for the new rounds of chemo. We got the results today, and it looks like it was only the tumor in his neck that grew. The chest was stable. So he may only go through this one round of treatment. We're pretty happy to hear that. We'll take any good news we can get!

Crap

So much for taking a break from cancer! About two weeks after Dr. Neel told Mike to take some time off and see how things go, hoping the cancer would stay dormant, we noticed the lump on Mike's neck looking bigger.

We went to see the doctor today, who agreed and decided to put Mike back on chemo.

It's the same chemo Mike was on before, which he seems to handle pretty well with minimal side effects. The thinking is that since it initially reduced the tumors, and being off of it made them grow, the drugs should stabilize things. They could even shrink the cancer again.

We head back to the chemo room next Wednesday, the 27th. Not exactly the place we wanted to spend our summer.

But not to worry, we are still going to Siesta Key in a couple of weeks. Soooo looking forward to that.

So, yes, this pretty much sucks, but we're not too upset. Just have to put our heads down and plow forward.

April

Wow, I've kept up with my little photo collages for four whole months. Feeling pretty darn proud of myself...

Bathing beauty, part 2

We are so ready for summer. We've already been to the beach once and we got the pool ready for swimming this weekend. We've even signed up for a waterbabies class next month, where Julia will be sporting one of her two new suits for the season.

How cute is she, seriously?
